Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Marquette Senior High School

Fruitport took a long trip north to take on thr Marquette Sentinels in a showdown in the regional semifinals. The Trojans came away with a hard fought 4-2 win. After a back and forth first 20 minutes, the Sentinels got on the board first as Kaleb Chiplelewski scored to take a 1-0 lead. The Trojans bounced back as Ryder Merkins found Isaac VanderMolen who hammered home a strike to tie the game at 1-1. The Trojans found the net five minutes later as Nathaniel Cribley Cotto scored off a Davis Johnson assist. Minutes before the end of the first half, Hudson Hazekamp placed a beautiful through ball to find a streaking Jyles Smith who buried the breakaway to extend the lead to 3-1 going into the half.  in the second half, the Sentinels struck at the 29 minute mark as Chiplewski converted a header to cut the lead to 3-2. Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Reeths-Puffer High School

Fruitport defeated Reeths Puffer by a score of 4-1 to claim the district championship on Thursday night. Isaac VanderMolen started the scoring early as he converted a header off a Grade Anspach assist. Carter Gregor struck later in the half with a beautiful strike to extend the lead to 2-0. Fruitport extended the lead before the end of half as Hudson Hazekamp found Jorge Burgos Yack to push the lead to 3-0 heading into the half. In the second half, Burgos Yack found Gregor who scored his second goal of the game.  Logan Werschem recorded the win in net and made 11 saves on the night. Fruitport improves to 19-0-1 on the season.  Coach Hazekamp noted, "So proud of our boys. To be able to win on our home field and have the community support through the district has been amazing. Boys Varsity Soccer vs. OPEN

Fruitport defeated visiting Grandville Christian 2-0 in the OK Silver Conference Tournament Championship game on Monday night. The Trojans got on the board midway through the first half as Jorge Burgos Yack found Hudson Hazekamp to push the Trojans in front 1-0. The game remained 1-0 all the way until the end when Logan Werschem triggered a counterattack that Burgos Yack finished with 10 seconds left on the clock to seal the victory.  Logan Werschem recorded three saves for the Trojans and earned his 12th shutout of the season. Fruitport finishes the regular season at 17-0-1.  Coach Hazekamp highlighted the back line of Sam Krueger, Braxton Ward, Isaiah Packard, and Nathaniel Cribley for great efforts on the backline. Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Godwin Heights Senior High School

Fruitport defeated visiting Godwin Heights 9-2 in the OK Silver Conference Conference Tournament semifinals on Thursday night. With the win the Trojans claim the outright OK Silver conference championship. The Trojans offensive explosion started early as Grade Anspach got the Trojans on the board off a Jorge Burgos Yack assist 5 minutes into the game. Carter Gregor had a highlight reel volley finish midway through the half to extend the lead to 2-0. The Panthers answered with 15 minutes left in the half but the Trojans responded 30 second later as Isaac Vandermolen found the back of the net. Nathaniel Cribley scored off a header off an Anspach assist to round out the half at 4-1. In the second half the Trojans continued to pour it on as Vandermolen scored twice as well as Ryder Merkins, Burgos Yack and Gregor to round out the scoring. Fruitport defeated visiting Hopkins by a score of 7-1 on Tuesday night in the opening round of OK Silver Tournament play. The Trojans started slow but picked up the pace as the game went. Jorge Burgos Yack and Carter Gregor paced the Trojans with two goals a piece while Sam Krueger, Davis Johnson, and Ryder Merkins added goals. Isaac Vandermolen chipped in three assists while Hudson Hazekamp and Burgos Yack also added assists on the night.  Logan Werschem recorded on save on the night for the Trojans who move to 15-0-1 on the season. Fruitport returns to action on Thursday as they host Godwin Heights in an OK Silver showdown. 

Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Spring Lake High School

Fruitport traveled to host Spring Lake on Saturday and came away with a 1-1 tie. Braxton Ward scored midway through the first half off a Satchel Norwood assist. The Trojans had other opportunities but could not convert throughout the game. The Lakers scored midway through the second half.  Logan Werschem recorded five saves for the Trojans who move to 14-0-1 on the season. Fruitport returns to action on Tuesday as they host Hopkins. 

Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Montague High School

Fruitport went on the road and defeated host Montague by a score of 5-0 on Thursday night in a nonconference tilt. The Trojans jumped out to a 4-0 first half lead behind two goals from Carter Gregor and goals from Isaac Vandermolen and Jorge Burgos Yack. Burgos Yack added a second half goal to round out the scoring. Hudson Hazekamp and Ryder Merkins had two assists on the night.  Logan Werschem and Mason Kettel combined to earn the shutout for the Trojans who move to 14-0 on the season. Fruitport returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Spring Lake for a non conference game. 

Boys Varsity Soccer vs. NorthPointe Christian School

Fruitport defeated visiting Northpointe Christian 4-0 in a battle of two of the top teams in the OK Silver on Wednesday night. The Trojans got on the board midway through the first half as Satchel Norwood gained the endline and crossed the ball into Isaac Vandermolen who found the back of the net to push the Trojans in front 1-0. The game remained 1-0 until midway through the second half when the Trojans exploded for three goals in an eight minute span. Grade Anspach crossed a ball that Ryder Merkins headed home to take a 2-0 lead. Two minutes later, Jyles Smith finished a breakaway off a Nathaniel Cribley Cotto pass. The Trojans rounded out the scoring as Hudson Hazekamp found Satchel Norwood who slotted the ball home to extend the lead to 4-0.  Logan Werschem recorded four saves in net for the Trojans and earned his eighth consecutive shutout and 10th shutout of the season. Boys Varsity Soccer vs. North Muskegon High School

Fruitport defeated visiting North Muskegon 1-0 in a non conference game on Saturday afternoon. The Trojans found the net in the first half as Grade Anspach connected with Ryder Merkins who headed it home to push the Trojans in front 1-0. The Trojans threatened but could not find the net the rest of the contest. The backline of Braxton Ward, Sam Krueger, Carlos Cruz and Isaiah Packard stood tall the rest of the way and played solid defensively.  Logan Werschem was solid in net recording 5 saves and earning the shutout in net for the Trojans who improve to 12-0 on the season which includes seven consecutive shutouts.  Coach Hazekamp credited Satchel Norwood, Carter Gregor, and Hudson Hazekamp with standout play in the midfield for the Trojans.  Fruitport returns to action on Tuesday as they host OK Silver foe Northpointe Christian. 

Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Calvin Christian High School

Fruitport defeated visiting Calvin Christian by a score of 1-0 on Thursday night. In a back and forth game, the Trojans scored late as Isaac Vandermolen found the net with just under 8 minutes left in the game. The Trojan defense made it stand the rest of the way.  Logan Werschem recorded 8 saves in net for the shutout and recorded the shutout. Fruitport improves to 11-0 on the season and 6-0 in the OK Sliver.  Coach Hazekamp was proud of his team for finding a way to win noting, "First off, a lot of credit to Calvin Christian. I thought they were organized and tough on the ball. We had some good chances early that we couldn't convert which allowed them to settle into the game. This was a game where the grittiness was important in finding a way to work through a game where we maybe weren't our best. Fruitport went on the road and defeated Kelloggsville by a score of 5-0 on Tuesday night. The Trojans started fast as Grade Anspach found Jorge Burgos Yack to put the Trojans in front 1-0. Minutes later, Anspach connected with Ryder Merkins who scored to push the lead to 2-0. The Trojans tacked on three goals in the second half as Burgos Yack scored twice and Jyles Smith scored. Merkins and Owen Tromp added assists in the second half.    Logan Werschem and Mason Kettel combined for the shutout in net. Fruitport improves to 10-0 on the season and 5-0 in the OK Silver. Fruitport hosts Calvin Christian on Thursday in a OK Silver contest.

Fruitport improved to 9-0 on the season and will next travel to Kelloggsville for an OK Conference game on Tuesday.

Fruitport went on the road and defeated host Comstock Park by a score of 3-0 in a OK Silver tilt on Thursday night. The Trojans got on the board midway through the first half as Jyles Smith found Davis Johnson who scored to push the Trojans in front 1-0. Although the Trojans had many opportunities in the first half they could not convert. In the second half Johnson struck again as Satchel Norwood found Johnson who scored to take a 2-0 lead. Jyles Smith scored off a Grade Anspach assist to round out the scoring.    Logan Werschem recorded one save and the shutout in net for the Trojans who improve to 8-0 on the season and 4-0 in the OK Silver. Fruitport returns to action Saturday as they square off against Reeths Puffer. 

Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Hopkins High School

Fruitport went on the road and defeated host Hopkins 6-0 in OK Silver action on Tuesday night. The Trojans received goals from Davis Johnson, Carter Gregor, Sam Krueger, Hudson Hazekamp, Jorge Burgos Yack and Riley Kanaar. Grade paced the Trojans with three assists while Satchel Norwood added an assist.    Logan Werschem earned the shutout in net recording one save. Fruitport improved to 7-0 on the season and 3-0 in the OK Silver. Fruitport travels to Comstock Park on Thursday for another OK Silver contest. 

Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Belding High School

Fruitport defeated visiting Belding 8-0 in a OK Silver conference tilt on Saturday. Isaac Vandermolen recorded three goals while Jorge Burgos Yack scored twice. The Trojans also received goals from Jayden Booker, Ryder Merkins and Carter Chandler. Assisting on goals was Nathaniel Cribley Cotto, Jayden Booker, Davis Johnson, and Isaac Vandermolen.    Logan Werschem and Mason Kettel combined in net to earn the shutout. Fruitport improves to 6-0 overall ans 2-0 in the OK Silver. The Trojans will be back in action Tuesday as they travel to Hopkins. 

Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Godwin Heights Senior High School

In a battle of state ranked teams, Fruitport defeated visiting Godwin Heights 2-1 in an OK Silver showdown. The Trojans fell behind in the first half as Godwin Heights converted a rebound off a corner kick. The teams entered half with Godwin up 1-0. The Trojans came out strong in the second half and controlled play. Jorge Burgos Yack broke the ice with 14 minutes remaining and slotted home a beautiful shot off an Issac Vandermolen assist. The Trojans weren't done as Vandermolen buried a shot off a Davis Johnson assist to take the lead. The Trojan defense held strong the rest of the way to secure the win.    Logan Werschem earned the win in net and recorded 10 saves for the Trojans in the wet conditions. Fruitport improves to 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in the OK Silver.    Coach Hazekamp was proud of his team's effort noting, "it was a full 24 man effort tonight. Fruitport defeated visiting Whitehall by a score of 5-2 in non conference action on Wednesday night. The Trojans received goals from Ryder Merkins, Satchel Norwood, Jorge Burgos Yack, Braylon Richards and Isaac Vandermolen scored for the Trojans. Davis Johnson, Merkins and Burgos Yack were credited with assists on the night.    Logan Werschem recorded 6 saves on the night. Fruitport improves to 4-0 on the season and will travel to Belding next Tuesday for an OK Silver game against Belding.

Coach Hazekamp credited the backline of Isaiah Packard, Sam Krueger, Nathaniel Cribley Cotto and Braxton Ward with solid games in the back.    Fruitport returns to action on Wednesday as they host Whitehall in a non conference game.

Fruitport went North to open the season and came home with two wins. In game one against Petoskey the Trojans started fast as Jorge Burgos Yack scored off a rebound to take a 1-0 lead. The Trojans scored later again in the half as Isaac Vandermolen assisted David Johnson who scored off a header. Rounding out the scoring was Vandermolen who buried a free kick. Logan Werschem record one save on the game. In game two against Haslett, Fruitport once again jumped out early as Jayden Booker scored off a deflection to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead. Jorge Burgos Yack scored off a set piece to push the Trojans up 2-0 before the end of the first half. Haslett notched a penalty kick as time expired at the end of the game. Logan Werschem recorded 4 saves for the Trojans who are 2-0 on the young season.    Coach Hazekamp was pleased with his team's effort noting, " I really liked our work rate and focus this weekend.
