Fruitport went on the road Thursday night and earned a 4-1 non conference win over Mona Shores. The Trojans jumped out early as Jackson Rebone found Bode Anspach who headed home a corner kick to take the lead less than five minutes into the game. Seven minutes later, Sean Gieske found the net off of an Eli Aldridge assist to take a 2-0 lead. In the second half, the Trojans kept the pressure on as Jaxon Deneen hammered home a ball from 25 yards out to extend the lead to 3-0. Gieske added an insurance goal off a Brady Brown assist. Mona Shores converted late to cut the lead to 4-1.
Justin Laus had eight saves in net for Fruitport. The Trojans outshot the Sailors 15-9.
Fruitport returns to the field Saturday night as they host Whitehall.
