WHITEHALL HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Fruitport defeated visiting Whitehall by a score of 2-0 Thursday night. After a scoreless first half, Logan Manciu’s blast pushed the Trojans in front 1-0. Manciu struck minutes later off a Bryce Lanore assist to extend the lead to 2-0. Justin Laus recorded the shutout in net for Fruitport and recorded four saves.
Coach Hazekamp was glad to get a result noting, “I thought Whitehall played really well and outworked us for the first half. Earlier in the season this is a game we would have lost but it was nice to see the boys rebound and play with more energy in the second half. I’d be remiss if I didn’t credit our back line of Ethan Selle, Kaleb Krueger, Jaxon Deneen, Charlie Swartz, and Henry Swartz. They stayed really organized and played really solid tonight.”
Fruitport travels to Orchard View on Saturday for another nonconference game on Saturday.
