The Fruitport Trojans boys basketball team dominated on Tuesday night versus an Orchard View team that came in with a 3-1 record. Expectations of many outside the Fruitport program were that Orchard View would win, but the Trojans cruised to a 77-33 victory.

Offensively, the Trojans put up their season-high in points. Gavin Fisher led the way with 36 pts, a career-high for the 6-5 junior. He pumped in 5 3-pointers to go along with a fast-break dunk. He also went 9-11 from the foul line. FIsher also dominated on the boards, finishing with 13 rebounds. 

9 total players scored for Fruitport. Fisher had 36, Logan Manciu added 9, Marcelo Conklin had 8, Adam Eitniear and Ethan Flores each scored 7, Rico Jones scored 6, Flynn Stonecypher added 3, Luke Mitchell had 2, and Tyrone Rule Jr. added 1 pt. 

Sharing the ball was key tonight, as Fruitport finished with a season-high 14 assists. Luke Mitchell led the way with 5, Marcelo Conklin had 4, Gavin Fisher had 3, and Ethan Flores added 2. 

Defensively the Trojans were flying around the court, making plays left and right. Ethan Flores and Marcelo Conklin led the way defensively with 5 steals and 4 steals respectively. Logan Manciu added 2 steals, while Gavin Fisher added 3 blocks to go along with 3 steals. Flores proved to be a pest all night long for OV's Keyonta Barnes, as the Cardinals best player ended the night with just 12 pts. Rico Jones added a charge to the defensive statistics, helping Fruitport pull away during a big 3rd quarter run. 

Fruitport improves to 2-2. The game was a big boost of confidence for the Trojans as they begin the always-tough OK Black season on Friday night. Fruitport plays host to Kenowa Hills at 7:30 PM on Friday, Jan 10.
