Fruitport defeated visiting Hamilton 5-2 in their OK Blue finale. The Trojans got on the board early as Carter Golden scored on a penalty kick five minutes into the game. The Hawkeyes answered moments later to tie the game at 1-1. Golden pushed the Trojans back in front with 10:00 minutes left in the half to take a 2-1 lead into the half. After conceding an early goal, Ryan Laus found the net to push the Trojans front 3-2. Freshman Brady Brown scored off a header on a beatiful assist from Cody Mayette to take a 4-2 lead. Golden finished off the scoring with a rocket from 35 yards out to extend the lead to 5-2.
Justin Laus recorded four saves in net for the Trojans who improve to 6-5-3 on the season. The Trojans square off against Reeths Puffer in their district opener on Thursday.
