Fruitport defeated host Coopersville by a score of 3-1 in OK Blue action on Monday night. The Trojans struck early in the first half as Jaxson Stone found Braylon Marshall who tucked the ball away to take a 1-0 lead. Fruitport wasn't done in the first half as Elliot Effken crossed a ball that Ryan Mitchell hammered home to take a 2-0 lead. The Trojans capped off their first half scoring as Isaac Vandermolen found Elijah Aldridge to push the lead to 3-0. The Broncos scored in the second half to cut the lead to 3-1 but couldn't get any closer.
Logan Werschem recorded 6 saves for the Trojans who move to 7-2-1 on the season and 2-2-1 on OK Blue play. The Trojans travel to Reeths Puffer on Saturday for a tough non conference test.
