UNITY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 3
Fruitport pulls out the win in game 1 in 8 innings 4-3. The Trojans struggled to string hits together early in the game but battled to keep it close. Going into the top of the 7th Unity led 3-0. Caleb Foy and Cody Matuz walked to start the rally in the 7th. Gavin Reames followed them up with a single and Mayson Whitlow was hit by a pitch to score the first run. Aiden Vela then had a sacrifice to make it 3-2 when Blake Hronek tied it up 3-3 with a single. The Trojans were able to score 1 in the 8th after a Aaron Sander double and a Matuz Walk. The go ahead run was scored on a 1st 3rd play. Caleb Foy came on in relief and picked up the win going 3 innings while striking out 2 and giving up 0 runs. Gavin Reames picked up the save. Hronek and Reames had 2 hits a piece.
Game 2 will be completed on Thursday at Fruitport.
