MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL: 42
The Trojans got their first win of the year on Tuesday night, defeating Muskegon Catholic Central 46-42. Fruitport played outstanding defense in the first half, leading to a 16-6 halftime lead. Then the offense opened up in the third quarter for the Trojans, as they scored 16 pts in the 3rd to extend the lead to 20 pts. Muskegon Catholic battled back however, getting as close as within three points. Big free throws down the stretch helped Fruitport as they held on to win. Leading the Trojans in scoring was Gavin Fisher with 13, Luke Mitchell with 12, Rico Jones and Ethan Flores each with 7, Marcelo Conklin with 6, and Tyler Thedorff added 1 point.
Fruitport improves to 1-2 on the year and heads into the holiday break without a game until January 7th, when they host Orchard View.
