Fruitport fell on the road season opener Tuesday night to Oakridge 50-47. The Trojans were down 30-19 at the half and were able to cut the lead to 39-35 after 3 quarters. The game got down to 2 points at the end, but the comeback fell short. Leading the scoring for Fruitport was junior Andrew Spyke with 16 and junior Bode Anspach with 14. Also scoring for Fruitport was Ryan Laus with 5, Paschal Jolman with 5, Ryan Mitchell with 4, Camden Farrell with 2, and Collin Jolman with 1.
Up next for Fruitport is traveling just down the road to Fruitport Calvary Christian on Friday night.
