The Trojans fell on the road in a hard-fought contest 57-53 at Whitehall on Friday night. Fruitport led 24-17 at the half and 37-35 after three quarters. The Trojans were unable to overcome poor free throw shooting, going 6 for 16 from the line, while the Vikings went 19 for 27.
Leading the way in a balanced effort for the Trojans was senior Andrew Spyke, with 13 pts. Paschal Jolman scored 11, Ryan Bosch added 10, Collin Jolman scored 8, Bode Anspach added 6, Da'syne Williams scored 3, and Kyle Burke added 2 pts.
Up next for Fruitport is traveling to Montague on Tuesday in another non-conference contest. Fruitport falls to 1-1 on the season.
