Trojans Golf Continues to Improve

The Fruitport Trojans golf team was able to improve their team score by 9 strokes from their last OK Conference competition. The Trojans shot a 195 to finish 4th in the 6 team competition at Lincoln Golf Course. This finish was behind winner Mona Shores and their 148 score. Reeths-Puffer and Jenison finished second and third with scores of 156 and 161. Logan Teitsma led the way for the Trojans by shooting a 4 over 40 which placed him 10th overall. Corbin Grow shot a 47 and Eli Covert 53, and Brian Lee 55 to round out the team score. Coach Gregory said, "There is some improvement in the overall playing of players, but we could use some help on our short game. If we can improve that we will see our score dramatically improve. Except for maybe Logan who only needed 9 putts this week." The Trojans next play in the Shelby Invitational on Monday.
