Fruitport defeated visiting Orchard View by a score of 3-2 on Monday night.  The Trojans jumped out to a quick lead as Kaleb Krueger found Bryce Lanore who found the net to take a 1-0 lead.  Fruitport wasn't done as later in the first half as Lanore connected with Cam Schultz who headed home the cross to extend the lead to 2-0.  Coming out in the second half, Lanore struck again as he took a well placed ball from Schultz and slotted a well-placed ball to take a 3-0.  The Cardinals wouldn't go quietly as the found the net 16 minutes remaining and then again with 12 minutes remaining but were unable to find the equalizer.  

Connor Hines had 9 saves in net for the Trojans.

Coach Hazekamp was pleased with his teams effort noting, "I thought the boys came out early and really established a good tempo and work rate.  We've worked on starting halves better and tonight it was good to get one in the first five minutes of each half.  I thought Connor Hines, Austin Golden, Kaleb Krueger, Cam Schultz, and Bryce Lanore really stepped up tonight and had standout games.  Orchard View is a dangerous team with good team speed.  This was a good test as we prepare for districts next week.

Fruitport takes on Muskegon tomorrow as they wrap up OK Black play.
