Fruitport went on the road and came away with a hard fought 1-0 win over West Catholic on Wednesday night. The Trojans got on the board in the first half as Ryan Laus connected with Bode Anspach to take a 1-0 lead. The Trojans generated opportunities but were unable to find the back of the net against the stingy West Catholic back line.
Coach Hazekamp credited Jayce Thornton, Brady Brown, Noah Fehler, Jaxon Deneen, and Logan Tromp for solid efforts in the back.
The Trojans outshot West Catholic 10-3 and Justin Laus had three saves in net. Fruitport improves to 6-0 on the season and will face Hamilton at home next Monday.
