SPRING LAKE HIGH SCHOOL: 3
Fruitport fell to host Spring Lake by a score of 3-1 on Monday night. The Lakers scored off a deflection in the last two minutes of the first half to take a 1-0 lead into the half. The Lakers added a goal at the beginning of the second half to take a 2-0 lead. The Trojans responded minutes later as Brady Brown headed home a corner kick from Jackson Rebone to cut the Laker lead to 2-1. The Trojans continued to press and had several opportunities before the Lakers added an insurance goal with three minutes remaining.
Coach Hazekamp highlighted the play of Jackson Rebone, Elijah Aldridge, Bode Anspach, Jackson Smith-Upson, and Jorge Burgos Yack with solid efforts for the Trojans.
Justin Laus recorded five save for the Trojans who move to 5-4 on the season. The Trojans will face West Catholic on Wednesday at home.
