Fruitport hosted top ranked Unity Christian on Monday night in an OK Blue showdown. The Trojans lost 4-2 in a hard fought back and forth battle. The Trojans fell behind early as Unity Christian struck from distance to take a early 1-0 lead. The Trojans answered as Brady Brown headed home a corner kick off a Braylon Marshall assist. The Trojans struck again as Jorge Burgos Yack scored off an Issac Vandermolen assist to take a 2-1 lead into the half. The second half saw the Saders come out and strike early as they scored 30 seconds into the second half and then five minutes later to surge into a 3-2 lead. The Trojans pressed and came close to equalizing before the Saders added an insurance goal late in the game to push the result to 4-2.
Logan Werschem recorded 11 saves for the Trojans who move to 6-2-1. Fruitport travels to Coopersville on Wednesday.
