SPRING LAKE HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Fruitport defeated visiting Spring Lake by a score of 2-0 in OK Blue action on Monday night. After a scoreless first half, the Trojans struck midway through the second half as Jorge Burgos Yack found Ryder Merkins who beat the keeper to push the Trojans in front 1-0. Isaac Vandermolen added the insurance goal with under 5 minutes left.
Logan Werschem recorded 5 saves in net for Fruitport who outshot the Lakers 10-5. Fruitport moves to 8-2-2 on the season and 3-2-1 in OK Blue play.
Coach Hazekamp credited the back line of Eli Aldridge, Brady Brown, Sam Krueger and Braxton Ward with a tremendous effort.
