Fruitport defeated visiting Covenant Christian by a score of 5-0 on Tuesday night. The Trojans jumped out quick behind a Brady Brown header off a Braylon Marshall corner kick. Later in the first half, Jorge Burgos Yack scored off a Ryder Merkins assist to extend the lead to 2-0 heading into the half. In the second half the Trojans started fast as Braylon Marshall converted a penalty kick. Burgos Yack struck two more times in the second half to record the hat trick on the night. Isaac Vandermolen and Marshall assisted on the last two Trojan goals. 
 

Logan Werschem recorded his seventh shutout of the season recording 10 saves on the night. Fruitport improves to 11-2-2 on the season and will host Montague on Thursday. 
 

Coach Hazekamp credited Elijah Aldridge was tremendous play in the back on the night. 
 

Coach Hazekamp was happy with his teams play noting, "I was really proud of the boys and their unselfishness and work rate tonight. Everyone on our roster played with great passion which allowed us to get a good result against a solid team."
