Fruitport went on the road and defeated host Unity Christian by a score of 2-0 in the OK Blue Conference Tournament semifinals on Wednesday night. After a scoreless first half, Issac Vandermolen found the net as he cleaned up the rebound on the Braylon Marshall shot to take a 1-0 lead midway through the second half. With twelve minutes left, Logan Werschem drove a punt that Jorge Burgos Yack ran on to and tucked away to push the lead to 2-0. Werschem and the backline stood tall the rest of the way.
Werschem recorded ten saves on the night and his 8th consecutive shutout. Fruitport improves to 14-2-2 on the season and will travel to Holland Christian for the OK Blue Conference Tournament Championship game next Monday.
