Fruitport defeated visiting Muskegon 8-0 in the first round of district play on Thursday night. The Trojans received two goals from Taylen Acocks and Jorge Burgos Yack as well as single tallies from Isaac Vandermolen, Brady Brown, Sam Krueger and Jyles Smith. Brown added two assists while Braylon Marshall and Burgos Yack added assists.
Logan Werschem recorded a save and his 10th consecutive shutout and 12th shutout of the season. Fruitport improves to 15-2-3 on the season and will face Spring Lake in the second round of districts next Thursday.
