Fruitport went on the road and defeated host Ludington 2-0 in a non conference tilt on Monday night. The Trojans jumped in front early as Braxton Ward found Isaac Vandermolen who beat the goalkeeper. The Trojans pressed but were unable to find the net again in the first half. Early in the second half, Jorge Burgos Yack beat a defender and tucked one to the top of the box where Davis Johnson found the back of the net.
Fruitport outshot Ludington 22-2 as Logan Werschem recorded two saves and the shutout. Coach Hazekamp credited the backline of Isaiah Packard, Sam Krueger, Nathaniel Cribley Cotto and Braxton Ward with solid games in the back.
Fruitport returns to action on Wednesday as they host Whitehall in a non conference game.
