Fruitport defeated visiting Reeths Puffer 2-0 in a nonconference tilt on Saturday morning. The Trojans started fast as Davis Johnson found the net twice in the first five minutes to give the Trojans an early lead. Grade Anspach assisted on the first goal and Jorge Burgos Yack assisted on the second goal. The Trojans held in defensively the remainder of the contest.
Coach Hazekamp credited the backline of Sam Krueger, Isaiah Packard, Braxton Ward and Nathaniel Cribley Cotto with great play on the day.
Logan Werschem recorded 9 saves in net for the Trojans and earned the shutout. Fruitport improved to 9-0 on the season and will next travel to Kelloggsville for an OK Conference game on Tuesday.
