Fruitport defeated visiting North Muskegon 1-0 in a non conference game on Saturday afternoon. The Trojans found the net in the first half as Grade Anspach connected with Ryder Merkins who headed it home to push the Trojans in front 1-0. The Trojans threatened but could not find the net the rest of the contest. The backline of Braxton Ward, Sam Krueger, Carlos Cruz and Isaiah Packard stood tall the rest of the way and played solid defensively.
Logan Werschem was solid in net recording 5 saves and earning the shutout in net for the Trojans who improve to 12-0 on the season which includes seven consecutive shutouts.
Coach Hazekamp credited Satchel Norwood, Carter Gregor, and Hudson Hazekamp with standout play in the midfield for the Trojans.
Fruitport returns to action on Tuesday as they host OK Silver foe Northpointe Christian.
