Fruitport defeated visiting Northpointe Christian 4-0 in a battle of two of the top teams in the OK Silver on Wednesday night. The Trojans got on the board midway through the first half as Satchel Norwood gained the endline and crossed the ball into Isaac Vandermolen who found the back of the net to push the Trojans in front 1-0. The game remained 1-0 until midway through the second half when the Trojans exploded for three goals in an eight minute span. Grade Anspach crossed a ball that Ryder Merkins headed home to take a 2-0 lead. Two minutes later, Jyles Smith finished a breakaway off a Nathaniel Cribley Cotto pass. The Trojans rounded out the scoring as Hudson Hazekamp found Satchel Norwood who slotted the ball home to extend the lead to 4-0. 

Logan Werschem recorded four saves in net for the Trojans and earned his eighth consecutive shutout and 10th shutout of the season. Fruitport improves to 13-0 on the season and 8-0 in the OK Silver. 

Coach Hazekamp was proud of his group and how they played on senior night. "Our seven seniors: Isaac Vandermolen, Sam Krueger, Isaiah Packard, Carter Chandler, Grade Anspach, Logan Werschem and Braxton Ward have all represented our program the right way on and off the field. It's a special group that I have been lucky to coach. Their impact is going to be felt for a long time. I'm glad we could get them a great win on senior night."

The Trojans return to action tomorrow as they travel to Montague for a nonconference game.
