The Trojans opened up conference play with a hard fought win against Coopersville. Very tough, very physical game in wet weather contributed to the rough playing conditions.
Soph Mallory Smith put the Trojans on the scoreboard late in the first half with 10:50 left before halftime.
The Fruitport defensive unit lead by Senior Haiden Wilburn handled everthing the Broncos threw at them, SR Blythe Jonassen, JR Kayla Kolberg, JR Joslyn Baldwin, Soph Lauren Riedel and FR Kenzie Pate contributed to a very strong defensive line. Sophomore Riley Kettel had another clean sheet with 14 saves.
