The Trojans faced two tough teams from the North today while participating in the North South challange held at Western Michigan Christian HS.
Fruitport was on the board first against Traverse City St. Francis HS off the foot of Alexa Hanson-Wilbur and assisted by Mallory Smith. TC tied up the game Late in the second half. The game ended 1-1 with Riley Kettel making 5 saves.
The second game of the day was against Leland HS. Mallory Smith scored first followed by two goals from Emerson VerMerris. The Trojans defensive lined stepped up big today and limited Leland to five shots. Haiden Wilburn, Kayla Kolberg, Laurn Riedel, Joslyn Baldwin, Hayley Hooker and Kenzie Pate all played a huge role in limiting the Leland offense from getting and good shots on goal.
The Trojans improve to 4-2-2 on the season and will be hosting Hamilton on Monday.
