The Varsity Tennis team played in the 7 team field Saturday at FMS and placed 4th overall. Many flights played great tennis in route to the quality finish. History was made on the court for the Fruitport tennis team, with the first two singles flights for the Trojans. After capturing 1 singles and 2 singles flight championships a year ago in the county tournament in 2021, the Trojans once again captured the top two positions again this year. Never has this occurred in Fruitport tennis history. Winning the county title at 2 singles was Grace Sweet with a 6-2 6-3 victory over North Muskegon. And capturing the #1 singles title and second county championship in a row was Hope Busscher who secured the her win with a 6-2 6-3 match score against North Muskegon.
