The annual "Pink in the Rink" two-game tournament began tonight at Griff's IceHouse in Grand Rapids. This annual game, hosted by the co-op teams of Northview High School and West Catholic High School, both of GR, is a fundraiser for various cancer organizations. This year's recipient is Beautiful You by Profile Salon in Comstock Park. The Frozen Knights started out slow, trailing 0-4 after one period of play. The second period brought a goalie change to spur the team into action and they answered the call, scoring three goals, two by Kenowa Hills Junior Gabe Partridge and one from Kenowa Hills Sophomore Nolan Bruxvoort. Score at the end of two period was 3-5. The third period was even more exciting, with the Frozen Knights tying the game at 5, including a hat trick and a fourth goal by Partridge, sending the game into overtime. The game winner was also scored by Partridge. Assists were tallied by Fruitport Senior Brendan Deneen and Fruitport Junior Will Braun; Fremont Junior Mathieu Hannahs; and Kenowa Hills Junior Jared Raisanen. The Frozen Knights take on West Catholic at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night at Griff's IceHouse for the championship game.
