Fruitport defeated visiting Godwin Heights 9-2 in the OK Silver Conference Conference Tournament semifinals on Thursday night. With the win the Trojans claim the outright OK Silver conference championship. The Trojans offensive explosion started early as Grade Anspach got the Trojans on the board off a Jorge Burgos Yack assist 5 minutes into the game. Carter Gregor had a highlight reel volley finish midway through the half to extend the lead to 2-0. The Panthers answered with 15 minutes left in the half but the Trojans responded 30 second later as Isaac Vandermolen found the back of the net. Nathaniel Cribley scored off a header off an Anspach assist to round out the half at 4-1. In the second half the Trojans continued to pour it on as Vandermolen scored twice as well as Ryder Merkins, Burgos Yack and Gregor to round out the scoring. Burgos Yack added two assists in the second half as well. 

Logan Werschem recorded eight saves in net for the Trojans who improve to 16-0-1 on the season. 

Coach Hazekamp was proud of his team noting, "to be able to earn a conference championship in this manner was great for our program. We had been working to put it all together and tonight was a great example of what we can do if it is all clicking. All 24 guys played a critical role and I am so proud of them. We have a lot of guys whose names won't show up on the scoresheet but played gritty and helped set the tone. We will look to continue to build on this great effort."

Fruitport returns to action on Monday night as they will host Grandville Calvin Christian.
