FREMONT HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Fruitport opened its home slate with a 2-0 nonconference win over visiting Fremont. After a scoreless first half, Zack Wessels sent in a well placed corner kick and Ethan Selle drove the ball into the net with a thundering header to put the Trojans in front 1-0.. Fruitport rounded out the scoring as Bryce Lanore slotted home an insurance goal late in the contest to take a 2-0 and finish out the scoring.
Justin Laus made three saves on the night snd earned the shutout in net. The Trojans outshot Fremont 11-3.
Fruitport improves to 3-0 on the season and will square off against WMC on Monday at home.
